| Preventing duplication of discussions on myLot | | As a newbie here I guess I have an excuse. But one really has to check whether the fantastic discussion you decide to post has not already been discussed recently. So for the several discussions I have posted that are indeed unoriginal I apoligise and can assure all that I will do a little research next time before putting it 'out there':) | |
| | DUPLICATION of Discussions at mylot | | I have started some discussions here only to know later that the same topics and subjects were already posted. Does anyone here can give me a tip on how to sort out discussion subjects for me to avoid duplications of the topics already posted here at mylot. | |
| | Is Duplication a crime?? | | If I want to duplicate my own CDs for my personal use (like ripping a song for my iPOD from a CD of my own or keep a backup copy in my computer) would it REALLY become a CRIME??
As I have paid for them, can't I do what I want from them for my personnel purposes??
What do you think? | |

| | CD-R Duplication requirements | | Hi, We would like to have more information with respect to CD-R duplication, its requirements on space, equipment, customs excise duty, import duties for printed materials, boxes & manuals | |
| | Has this happened to anyone | | I posted two discussions on Mylot last night. The second discussion was generated when I realized that I had accidently posted the first discussion three times. I did not realize that it had downloaded so many times. My second discussion was about the overpost.I had a few responses on just one of the post and the other two post did not have any responses. I then received a notification from Mylot today stating that my post had been deleted because of dupicate posts. That was not a problem I wanted the other two to be deleted. However I did not realize that they would delete the one with the responses and the leave the other one with no response. I contacted Mylot to see if they would correct this.Has this ever happened to anyone and if so was it rectified? | |

| To delete or not delete, that is THE question.... | | Has anybody noticed an increase in posts or discussions that have been deleted lately? Why do you suppose this is? Is it due to an increase in interest admin has taken lately, or is it due mostly to trollish behavior of people who have personal issues with what other people post here?Remember - this site is for social interaction, exchange of ideas, and DISCUSSION, among other things. Nowhere in the 'rules' does anything state any of us has to AGREE with anybody else, although we are expected to remain civil and mature in our dealings with others. This means there is no excuse for randomly trying to get discussions or posts deleted JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT THE PERSON SAID.I personally do not rate people down, even if I dislike the opinion of the poster. I personally do not go crying to admin if someone posts something I don't like. The only reason I would report someone is if they tried to impersonate me or went about stalking me or a friend in discussions, posting unrelated nonproductive comments, stealing avatars, etc. It would be so nice to begin the new year with fewer people being petty and drama-queenish...Are you guilty of this type of behavior? | |

| I guess you can find nearly every song's influences in another era | | I was listening to the 1920's network just now and was reminded so strongly of Country Joe and the Fish's hit in the 60's, "Feels Like I'm Fixin' to Die". You know the one whose chorus goes:And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam; And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die. Well, I looked at the playlist on the radio station I was listening to and it was Lionel Hampton playing "Muskrat Ramble" from the 30's. Kid Ory wrote it in 1925, if I can read my scribbles correctly. I'm not saying the Fish intentionally too the licks from Ory and Hampton (and Louis Armstrong covered it, of course) but when you think of how few notes there are and how many songs are made, it's inevitable some would be repeated.Do you know of any songs that are derived from bygone eras? | |
