| Degree In Forestry Science! So What? | | Do the name of your course set up your standard? I mean what is wrong with people these days? How can a person taking Agricultural@Forestry@Environmental science being labelled as third class while Engineers and Doctors at the top!!! Indeed, I know the requirements to apply these courses are totally different, but setting up the standard can be such an annoyance. | |
| | Anybody invested in forestry? | | I got some leaflets about this kind of investment some time ago. Buying or renting a piece of forest land or even planting a trees on your name and after a few years when the trees are older selling the wood or the same trees to another buyer for a higher price. Revenues, according from the several sources I checked are not bad, normally getting faster into profits if you choose investing in a tropical place where trees grow faster and you can choose precious wood species. I found offers for this kind of investment in Panama and Costa Rica. In Europe it is possible too but it takes longer and normally you need to start with more money. Here I found some offers in Scotland but I'm sure you can do it everywhere. In my area the most common "industrial" plantation are elms, which grow very fast but are used only to make paper. | |

| | The happiness of Student | | Once I was in High School, I was sent to a different province.
I studied Forestry, that's why my friends at home called me Tarzan's son.
I with other 79 teens from 7 different provinces was gathered in the barracks for about 3 Years. The happiest thing there was when we go for outreach. Whenever we go to the jungle for practice, there were a lot of new things we found. There were a lot of playful material as well. Being in the jungle, We were so lonely though we were many. But that loneliness in one or other way had make me so happy.
One day, we went to the forest to take river crab and cook it as our dinner, although in the morning we had to deal with our instructor. the other day, We were led to a hill because there were fire in the wood.
The other day, we watched as the full moon eclipse. After that we talked spooky tale. And this and that...After all, high school is wonderful.
It's unforgettable to be friends.Everyone has experience in high school, so what is yours?

| | I'm So Furious About This | | Well chaulk all this to so-called progress and your tax dollars at work and I hate it.[em]angry[/em]I have lived in this neighborhood nearly all my life...I literally grew up here. On my block are or should saywere beautiful trees all lining up and down my block.Well early this morning beginning around 8:00 a.m. I hear the hideous sound of saws...yup you can guess...all up and down the block men were cutting down large sections of each tree on the block...Now yes, I could see them cutting dead limbs and branches of trees..but perfectly healthy ones??? Does this make sense? There are NO, beautiful sweeping lower limbs or branches on any of the trees now...no wonderful shade.. ..Just the other day I was thinking how beautiful this one lower branch of the tree was, that is right in front of my second story window apt--it's like they hardly left any tree at all now...The guy must have thought I was absolutely nuts cause I started yelling and cursing at him "Are you going to leave any fricking tree left??? Like gee, why don't you just cut the whole tree down since you're doing such a hatchet job. There are also a lot of birds in the area..did they observe while... | |
| | Logging Industry | | I live in Minnesota USA which has hundreds of thousands of acres of forests. Now logging is a big business in Minnesota. There are quite a few companies that cut the trees down and plant many thousand new trees yearly to replace whats lost thus adding more oxegyn producing trees. They truck the logs all over the US. On a short trip the other day up north I must have seen about 50 trucks on the way there and back all heading south. More than likely to the Minneapolis train yards for shipping them to other states. I love ssing these trucks as I know snow isn't too far off not. What type of business is your area known for that ships the product all over the place? Yes, I took this photo from my car as I drove the highway at 75 MPH. HAHAHAHA! Just me I reckon.
