| | technical support | | Have you ever had to contact technical support? For your phone, your computer, television service, or whatever? Did they help? I have spent several years in technical support, most of that as a supervisor, and I have found the competence of tech support personnel appalling. Many do not understand the product they are "supporting", and the worst part is that knowledge and competence are not encouraged or rewarded by management. Corporate executives want two things out of technical support agents: sales and customer retention. I am pretty knowledgeable about the products I use, so I have rarely found it necessary to call for help. When I do, I almost invariably get somebody who knows less than I do about what is going on.
Technical support agents are taught to use "troubleshooting flows". This is basically a Q and A process that could be handled by a computer. Any deviation from one of those flows is punished by management.
It is a short-sighted and destructive attitude at the executive level, and it permeates American business. If somebody calls that is having a problem, she wants the problem solved. What she gets instead is an overt empathy expression (which agents are...

| | I started as a Customer Service Rep then turned into Technical Support. | | i started as a CSR (customer service rep) for about 2 1/2 yrs. first i thought it was cool due to high pay and lots of benefits plus goodies and hang outs and i thought im gonna be on this job for long. but one day i woke up being tired of doing and saying the same thing over and over. i change change company and position thinking i just need a new environment and new people to work with but still the same, i was too lazy going to work even i put encouragement on it but still didn't work out. so i decided to leave the industry for good.

| | A true joke.. From Technical Support | | Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such Poker Night 10.3. Football 5.0, Hunting and Fishing 7.5, and Racing 3.6. I cannot seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favourite applications. I'm thingking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the uninstall doesn't work on wife 1.0. Please help!!Thanks,
Troubled User..REply:Dearest Troubled User; This is a very common problem that men complain about.
Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! it is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and return to Girlfriend 7.0. It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under...

| | PayPal's Technical Support Is Actually Located In the Philippines | | Anybody here knows that Paypal's technical support is in the Philippines? Their center is located in Eastwood Libis in Quezon City. I won't mention the company just to be safe but I used to work for that company. If I didn't leave that company I probably am still working for them[em]lol[/em]. A few of my former teammates still works from them and a close friend of mine also knows somebody from the company so it was easy for us to contact them and ask questions. To everybody, what can you say about this?[em]happy[/em] | |
| | Are You Very Satisfied With The Technical Support Of Your ISP? | | I work as a technical support agent for an ISP in the United States. Our group specifically talks to business customers so they are much harder to deal with especially if their internet connection drops, if their internet drops so is their business for that day. Residential customers are much easier to satisfy especially if they are not very much knowledgeable with PCs. At the end of each call (that is resolved and caller is not irate) we are required to ask if the caller is very satisfied with the call (I don't do this every time though.. lol!). Have you ever called technical support before? How was it? Are you very satisfied with the service delivered to you? | |

| Do you get angry about companies technical support system? | | Recently I needed help setting up my internet service. So I call the number for technical support and was put on hold for around 10-15 mins. This was only a minor problem because I had expected to wait that long. Then finally I got to speak to a representative. But theres a catch, I could not understand a word the woman was saying due to her foreign accent. After about 5 minutes of repeatedly asking her "excuse me" or "pardon me" I simply just had to hang up. I feel that if I spend money on something and need help with it the least I can get is someone that i can understand. | |
